The team are celebrating National Oatmeal Month by adding new oats to our breakfast each morning. In the last two weeks we have begun adding nuts, dried fruit, coconut, apple and palm sugar, and, a few hardcore fans have even started eating the tasty snack for lunch for a fibre energy kick!
Oatmeal was first introduced thousands of years ago in the British Isles and is now a staple around the globe. In 2018, the market for oatmeal was reportedly worth £1.7 billion and is increasing with a CAGR of 4.2% during the forecast period of 2019 – 2027.
The EU is the largest consumer of oatmeal, at 7750 metric tonnes each year. In second is Russia which consumes 4200 metric tonnes, we assume to keep warm and then closely followed by the United States.
